What is a Cat Colony?
Cat colonies consist of community cats (also called “feral” or “outdoor” cats) that are generally not socialized or friendly to people. They exist among human communities, often on farms, towns, or cities.
Community cats live full and healthy lives with their feline families (colonies) in their outdoor homes.
Research supports that community cats peacefully coexist in human environments. Since colony cats typically aren’t friendly to people and avoid contact, the chance for disease transmission is minimal.

Cat Colony Support
Do you have a cat colony? We can help.
We recognize and appreciate the hard work that colony caretakers do to ensure that community cats are well taken care of. We also know that food, shelter, and medical bills can be expensive. This is where Homeward Bound can help.
Please contact us if you are currently caring for a colony of community cats and would like assistance.
Here are some ways in which we can help:
Providing dry food (when available)
Offering no-cost spay/neuter
